2018 Annual Election Period

Beginning October 1st through October 14th, MWG Senior Services prepares for the AEP by uploading the current medication worksheets you submitted and by comparing your current prescription drug plan (PDP) to your PDP for the upcoming year. These plans change every year and that is why we offer to review them annually, free of charge, for our Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage clients.

New Mutual of Omaha Plans

MWG Senior Services is excited to announce the new Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) and Medicare Advantage Plan (MAPD) that will be offered by Mutual of Omaha. Mutual of Omaha has been in business since 1909 and is a well-known and respected company. The PDP plans will be available in all states, except New York, and the MAPD plan will be available in Bexar County in Texas (San Antonio area) for now.

877-759-5760 - Spoofing

Did you get a call from our number?  MWG Senior Services has been spoofed!

Spoofing is when someone imitates a phone number, so it looks like we are calling, when we did not.  Recently, someone spoofed our number pretending to be Medicare to obtain your personal information. Our direct line is 877-759-5760, which is the number they are calling from.  However, when we dial out, our local number starting with 601 will show up on your caller ID.  We have filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), but unfortunately, that’s all we can do.  We were told normally the scammers will use one number for a couple of days, then change to a different one.

Medicare Supplement Agent Services

If you have a question about your policy, would your Medicare Supplement agent be available for you to call? Would your agent check your PDP plan EVERY year, free of charge?

Did you know that Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) typically covers one flu shot per flu season and the pneumonia vaccination? Also, there are other vaccinations that you could get free of charge, like the Hepatitis B, Shingles, and the Tdap Vaccinations.

The National Association of Health Underwriters recently published an article discussing the SGR (sustainable growth rate) which was a flawed formula that has caused Congress to scramble over the past few years for a Medicare Doctor Fix. The SGR was created in part of the Balanced Budge Act of 1997 to control the rate of physician's pay in Medicare.
